Pharmaceutical chemistry is a discipline that connects numerous scientific fields of health sciences towards design, synthesis and developing new chemical entities suitable for therapeutic use under new drug development. Also, it covers the study of existing drugs, their biological properties, and their quantitative structure-activity relationships. This department can produce a graduate with first-class knowledge in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.

Pharmaceutical Analysis focused on quality aspects of medicines and aimed to assure the efficacy of medicinal products. It covers the analysis of the raw materials and finished pharmaceutical and herbal products. Study of pharmaceutical analysis is centred for the evaluation of quality, safety, and efficacy of products before sales. The undergraduate student learns theoretical and practical knowledge of pharmaceutical analysis that includes the importance of quality control and quality assurance of pharmaceutical substances as per the need of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory requirement.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Pharmaceutical Analysis comprises of a dedicated and experienced team of faculty members who actively involved in teaching and research activities. This department can support the following research areas
