Department of pharmacology is an integral part of the pharmacy course. Our Pharmacy curriculum follows the syllabus prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) that generally includes the following subjects.

Subjects
Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II
Remedial Biology
Pathophysiology
Pharmacology I, II & III
Pharmacovigilance (Elective)
Cell and Molecular Biology (Elective)
Experimental Pharmacology (Elective)
Project work

Pharmacology comprehends drugs origin, composition, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic use, and toxicity. Pharmacology is taught in either all or the most health-related courses. As defined by elsewhere, pharmacology covers the properties and reactions of drugs with their therapeutic value.

Department of Pharmacology consists of experienced pharmacologists. We educate our students to accomplish knowledge through interdisciplinary teaching that demonstrates the shift of pharmacology from experimental pharmacology to clinical pharmacology. Clinical pharmacology covers rational prescribing, clinical trials of drugs, adverse drug reaction monitoring, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, toxicity, and drug interactions. We also educate our students on the role of pharmacology in quality, safety and efficacy of drugs towards patient compliance. Our research team can support various research areas. For example, in-vitro drug screenings and physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling.
