Guest Lecture on “PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORMS”

Scientific events committee of DKCOP organized a guest lecture on the topic entitled "Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms" on 09.02.2024. Dr. Vinay Rao, Associate Vice President, (R&D and Technology Transfer), STEERLife, Bengaluru was the resource person of the lecture. Dr. Vijayaraj, Professor and Head Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Analysis welcomed the gathering. Dr. Vinay Rao provided a comprehensive overview of the various formulations and delivery methods of pharmaceutical substances. The speaker delved into the importance of dosage forms in optimizing drug administration, ensuring patient compliance, and enhancing therapeutic outcomes. The lecture covered a range of dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, liquids, and topical formulations, elucidating their respective advantages and limitations. Dr. Vinay Rao also discussed factors influencing the selection of a particular dosage form based on patient characteristics, disease state, and therapeutic goals. Moreover, the presentation delved into emerging trends and innovations in dosage form development, such as nanotechnology and sustained-release formulations.
